Mesquite Groves Aquatic Center
The Mesquite Groves Aquatic Center is probably the largest public swimming pool and municipal water park in the city. It is there to serve the expanding southern side of Chandler, Arizona. You do have to pay for admission. You can save money by buying a year-long pass.
The Mesquite Groves Aquatic Center is located on South Hillcrest Drive. You’ll have to exist Hillcrest Drive to take the private road that leads to the pools and water park. If you miss the turn, South Hillcrest Drive itself will dead end into a parking lot next to the race track next to the high school.
It is a shared used facility next to Basha High School. That’s because the Basha High School swim team often swims in the competition swimming pool. Everyone else can enjoy the toddler slides, lazy river and full-sized water slides. Young children can learn how to swim in the family play pool. The park closes to daily admission to the public when school is in session.
The Mesquite Groves Aquatic Center offers lap swim several times a week, swimming lessons and aquatic aerobics. You can walk to the publicly available tennis courts and ball fields next to the high school.
The Mesquite Groves Aquatic Center has its own parking, but you can park at the high school if school isn’t in session. The aquatic center is within walking distance of the Chandler Basha Library.
The aquatic center sits at the northeastern corner of East Riggs Road and Hillcrest Drive. You can cross Riggs Road to reach the walking trails at Quail Run Park. Everything to the west and southwest is residential. The small parks in these areas are mostly private.
The Mesquite Groves Aquatic Center is a modern and engaging facility in contrast to classic public swimming pools like Folley Pool in downtown Chandler.
